The Chicago forward missed the Blackhawks’ last two games but has hopes of being available again soon.
Patrick Kane was placed on the injured list by the Chicago Blackhawks Thursday, retroactive to January 3, with a lower-body injury.
Kane was also absent from the Blackhawks’ 2-0 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Friday and the 4-3 aet win. against the Calgary Flames on Sunday.
“It’s frustrating. There were different things that went into treatment to make it better. I probably shouldn’t have played the game against Tampa [on Jan. 3]. I felt like I was ready for Arizona, probably fit to play against Calgary. But it was like we had those three days here, then we did a few things and it was just better not to play in the long run,” explained Kane.
Kane Will Return to The Blackhawks
Chances are good that Kane will return to the Blackhawks in Saturday’s game against the Seattle Kraken, coach Luke Richardson said.
“He told me that he’s doing much better today,” said the coach.
Kane sustained the injury following a check by Evgeny Svechnikov in the Jan. 1 game against the San Jose Sharks. According to him, it is not the injury that has caused him complaints since the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
“It’s not exactly the same problem, but there are different things in this area that have caused problems,” he said. “I’m not feeling bad. I mean, today went pretty well. It will be nice to train with the team when we hit the ice tomorrow to be ready for Saturday night,” said Kane.
