EXCLUSIVE: Shameless actor Noel Fisher and Tilda Del Toro joined the cast in the Tom Hardy-led Al Capone biopic Fonzo, written and directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank. The film is focused on the final days of the ruthless businessman who ruled Chicago with an iron fist during the Prohibition Era and was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore before being famously taken down by Eliot Ness.

At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia sets in and Capones past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life.

Fisher will play Junior, Capones son, while Del Toro will play Mona Lisa, a mysterious lover from Fonzes past.

Linda Cardellini, Matt Dillon, Jack Lowden, Kyle McLachlan, and Katherine Narducci also co-star.

Filming is set to begin next month with BRON Studios and Creative Wealth Media backing the project. Aaron L. Gilbert is producing the film for BRON, along with Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder via Addictive Pictures, and Lawrence Bender of A Band Apart. Exec producers are Jason Cloth of Creative Wealth. CAA and Endeavor Content are handling North American rights, with BLOOM handling international sales.

Fisher, who was recently cast in the CBS pilot, Red Line, a racially charged hourlong drama executive produced by Ava DuVernay and Greg Berlanti, is repped by UTA and Industry Entertainment.

del Toro, repped by Open Range Agency, will be seen up next in Universals Malcolm D. Lee-directed comedy, Night School, starring Kevin Hart.
