Camila Cabello’s shock decision to leave Fifth Harmony at the height of their success shook the fandom – and had everyone thinking a certain pop superstar had something to do with it.

Back in 2015, it was claimed that Taylor Swift was urging her friend to leave the band, with a source telling Hollywood Life: ‘Time and time again, Taylor has brought to

Camila’s attention that she has an amazing solo career ahead of her. It’s gotten to the point where she keeps trying to convince Camila to do a solo album.’

However, Camila has spoken out and defended T-Swizzle, saying that the rumours ‘annoyed’ her.

Speaking on The Dan Wootton Interview Podcast, the Havana singer said: ‘It annoyed me that people said she was encouraging me because I know that she probably got a lot of negative criticism for that.

‘Absolutely nobody could ever persuade me to do something. To be honest with you, she’s never ever had anything to do with that.’

She added that she and Taylor don’t even discuss their careers when they’re together, instead choosing to gossip about boys.

It was announced Camila was leaving Fifth Harmony on 18 December 2016, leaving Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui as a four-piece.

The group claimed that Camila had failed to turn up to group meetings and that they had endured ‘months of rejection’ from her and her management – even alleging that they found out she had quit through their management, a claim Camila has denied.

However, the 21-year-old insists there’s no bad blood between her and her former bandmates.

She said: ‘The reason I don’t like talking about it is because I don’t want to fight, I don’t want any bad feelings.

‘I genuinely wish them the best and I just have love for them and the whole journey we went through. I feel like now that it’s been a year and a half I totally respect the time and the memories we had. I don’t want to disrespect it.’
