All good things must eventually come to an end in life. That’s simply the truth. Nothing gets to last forever. It might be a sad fact, but it’s true. It just stings a little bit more when we lose a great player and great guy like Joe Thomas.

I’ve also had a soft spot for Thomas ever since his days playing for Wisconsin. He was just a regular Wisconsin kid, and was just like the rest of us. A down to earth guy who you knew that you’d love to crack some beers with.

He went out there, played like a champion for the Browns, set the record for most consecutive snaps and left it all out on the field. He never won a Super Bowl, but he did more for this league than people will realize.

I’m sad to see him go, but I’m happy we all got to see him hit the gridiron for more than a decade.
