The Taylor family are set for a blast from the past in EastEnders when Keegan Baker’s dad Mitch turns up out of the blue – and brings big trouble with him. But what is his motive for tracking the clan down and will Karen be forced to confront ghosts from her history?

Very little has been mentioned about Keegan’s dad (aside from Karen exclaiming that he could never keep it in his pants) and there will be conflict when he comes face to face with Mitch next month. As Karen reels from having Mitch around, what will this mean for Keegan and other members of the family such as Keanu and Bernadette?

Roger Griffiths has been cast in the role of Mitch. Roger has previously appeared in Holby City, Casualty and Family Affairs and made his first EastEnders appearance in the mid 2000s as a detective character.

Speaking about his new role, which is a short stint, he enthused: ‘The Taylors are an established tight-knit family on the square, so coming in as Mitch – the wild card, meant I had to hit the ground running. I had a brilliant time and the actors who make up the Taylor family made me feel at home instantly. It was love at first sight.’

Mitch first arrives when his van breaks down and is in need of a repair in the Arches – but it soon becomes clear that he hasn’t turned up by accident and his shifty behaviour will reveal his true intentions.

Roger will be on screen for a handful of episodes commencing on Monday 12th March at 8pm on BBC One.
