Recent scenes have left fans confused and worried for Aidan Connor as he has emotionally broken down and has also been acting oddly by hiding a letter in Coronation Street. So is something wrong with the factory boss – and is he hiding a big secret?

Of course, going in for an operation to donate your kidney is daunting and emotional for anyone so Aidan may well just be dealing with the enormity of that – given the risks involved, it was always going to be quite intimidating.

But given that we know that Shayne Ward is leaving the show this summer, viewers are beginning to wonder if his recent behaviour is concealing something deeper – with some speculating that he is hiding a health issue such as a serious illness and others wondering if he is in serious debt. Meanwhile, some other fans have speculated that he has figured out the truth about Eva Price’s pregnancy.

A mysterious scene recently saw him anxiously shove a letter into hiding leading to thoughts that it could be a doctor’s letter or a bank statement or bill that he doesn’t want anyone else to see. He was also seen acting strangely when talking with Kate Connor and, when left alone in hospital, he burst into tears.

It remains to be seen what is going on with Aidan but hopefully Carla’s plan to gift him with her share in Underworld might lift his spirits.

Shayne’s exit will air this summer in what is being billed as a dramatic storyline and Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva, is also expecting to depart around that time.
