Liam Payne’s relationship with Cheryl is under the microscope amid rumours they’re heading for a split.

But that doesn’t mean the former One Direction star is dodging the spotlight – in fact, he’s taking to one of the biggest stages in music instead.

Liam has been confirmed to duet with Rita Ora at the Brits tomorrow night, with the pair performing their steamy collaboration For You from the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack.

Because that’s what will dispel break-up rumours – singing a song from the soundtrack of a cinematic kink-fest with one of the hottest women in the world.

During a Twitter Q&A for the Brit Awards, Rita tweeted: ‘Hey @LiamPayne, fancy joining me on stage at The #BRITs 2018? #BRITsLiamPayne.’

The 24-year-old recorded a video saying: ‘Well hi there Rita. Yeah, I suppose I can come and join you on stage for a little bit. I’ll see you on Wednesday, I guess.’

And the stars confirmed the collaboration, with Rita tweeting: ‘So excited to have @LiamPayne join my #BRITs performance!!’

The Brits will also feature a duet between Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Jorja Smith, but that won’t be as controversial.

It is believed Liam and Cheryl’s romance is on the rocks one year after they welcomed their son Bear.

It has been claimed that their ten year age gap has been the source of strain between the stars, with a source telling The Sun: ‘There’s a big age gap between them. If they didn’t have Bear then they would have most likely split up by now.’

More: Cheryl

Liam has allegedly sought legal advice in case their relationship ends, while reports claim that Cheryl, 34, knocked back the star’s proposal following the birth of their son.

However, neither star has commented on the rumours. Considering Cheryl never even confirmed her pregnancy, that’s not exactly surprising.

The Brits will be broadcasted from 8pm on ITV live from the London O2 Arena on Wednesday, 21 February.
