A film based on popular science fiction book Ready Player One is nearing completion – and the film’s promotional poster has already got our hearts racing.
The new poster has a Tron or Back To The Future vibe, and is a marked improvement on the first poster that was unveiled which featured star Tye Sheridan with a freakishly long leg.
Set in the year 2045, a group of gamers find themselves seeking salvation in the OASIS, a virtual world that offers sanctuary as a dystopian real world nears total collapse.
The world, created by philanthropist James Halliday, becomes the focal point of a global contest when he dies, leaving an Easter Egg hidden in the expansive world that contains his vast fortune for one lucky winner.
The film, adapted from the cult book by Ernsest Cline and directed by Steven Spielberg, stars Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn and T.J. Miller, alongside Simon Pegg and Mark Rylance.

Judging on Spielberg’s previous sci-fi adventures, including Close Encounters, ET and Tron – we’re in safe hands as he brings the much loved book to the silver screen. It looks like a cross between Blade Runner, Tron and Mad Max.
Basically, its 80s Spielberg at its very finest.
Ready Player One is scheduled for worldwide release on 29 March 2018.
