Justin Timberlake is returning to the Super Bowl stage 14 years after he played a part in the infamous Nipplegate incident of 2004.
However, rumours are to be believed, he won’t be bringing Janet Jackson with him.
And amid speculation about whether the legendary diva will rejoin JT on the Super Bowl stage, her father Joe Jackson has signalled that the Jackson family doesn’t forgive Justin over a decade later.
Joe told the New York Post: ‘If he’s such a gentleman, he’d make sure Janet is there.’
And another family member reportedly said: ‘Justin’s solo career took off after that and Janet was blackballed. He says they are good, but let’s see him prove it and bring her out.’
Janet was the half-time show headliner at Super Bowl XXXVIII, and she invited Timberlake on as a guest to perform his song Rock Your Body.
When Justin sang ‘bet I have you naked by the end of this song’, he was supposed to rip off the front of her bustier – however, he tore off Janet’s bra as well, exposing her breast, which was adorned with nipple jewellery.
The scandal derailed Jackson’s career for years; but Justin’s remained fairly untouched, with the former N*SYNC star becoming one of music’s most successful male soloists.

Justin didn’t acknowledge the unfairness on Janet for another two years, telling MTV News in 2006: ‘If you consider it 50-50, then I probably got 10 percent of the blame. I think America is harsher on women. I think America is unfairly harsh on ethnic people.’
Justin recently claimed that he and Janet made peace over the ‘wardrobe malfunction’, although Janet has yet to speak out on his comments.
The Cry Me A River singer is expected to have a Prince hologram during his half-time performance, as the Super Bowl is taking place in the Purple One’s hometown of Minneapolis.
