Just when things were starting to look up for poor Tyler Brennan, things are going to take a devastating turn.
Tyler’s case comes under scrutiny when the police call on Ben for more questioning about the night Hamish died, and Ben is re-interviewed about his take on the turn of events. And he unwittingly does a whole heap of damage with his words.
Tyler is frightened by the idea that he could be sent down for 20 years, the maximum sentence for manslaughter, but Toadie thinks he’s more likely to get two. The mechanic is still devastated at the idea of being locked up at all, and he and Piper decide to spend some time living life as freely as possible ahead of his likely incarceration.
But while he had struggled with the idea of two years behind bars, there is a terrible blow to come – Tyler’s charges have been upgraded to…murder.
Ben is horrified to learn his re-interview might have been the cause of the change in charges, although Tyler tries to calm him. The Brennans now have to find a way to pay their brother’s mounting legal bills, and decide sell the boat, although when Gary hears he comes up with a plan – to turn the boat into a business.
But will Terese get involved, afraid that her daughter is getting caught up in a murder trial? And could Tyler really get sent down?
Scenes air from Monday 15 January on Channel 5 from 1.45pm and 5.30pm.
