Masood Ahmed’s return to EastEnders is set to be overshadowed by chaos as he makes several mistakes, one of which sees foster child Daisy go missing.
Masood is determined to impress his neighbours – and prove a point to nemesis Ian Beale – by acting the big shot and suggesting that he is a huge deal. Even offering Jack Branning cash up front to rent one of his flats, Masood is soon scuppered when an amused Ian finds that he actually owns an ice cream business that isn’t doing too well.
With Masood looking for cash, he tentatively asks his aunt and uncle Mariam and Arshad for their rent money and even tries to keep a hold of Carmel Kazemi’s security deposit!
Things get even worse when Masood loses sight of Daisy, a girl being fostered by Mariam and Arshad, and the police have to be called. When she is found, Mariam and Arshad are warned that they may face trouble fostering again once they file a report.
Later, Masood is forced to face the music when his aunt and uncle make it clear to Ian that their nephew’s tales of running a successful business were a pack of lies and Ian can’t help but gloat.
Can Masood rise above the scorn and prove himself?
One to watch: Friday 12th January at 8pm on BBC One.
