BTS may be one of the biggest boybands in the world right now, but we bet theyre shaking in their boots ahead of this groups debut.
BT21 are making their grand debut tomorrow, with Mang, Shooky, Tata, Cooky, Koya, RJ and Chimmy preparing to shake up the K-pop world on their debut stage.
And theres a clear difference between BT21 and all the other K-pop bands out there…
… Theyre animated.
BT21 are the result of a collaboration between BTS and Line Friends Friends Creator series, and in an amazing twist, the cartoon group will debut on the same day BTS did back in 2013.
BTS are celebrating their fifth anniversary Festa, so were guessing the BT21 debut is a special treat for ARMYs.
The BT21 official Twitter account confirmed their debut, tweeting: BREAKING NEWS #BT21 #Debut #Staytuned, and fans found the announcement equally exciting and hilarious.
One person wrote: BTS is shaking while another ARMY joked: Finallyyy i wasnt able to support bangtan on their debut hahahha now Ill be able to see bt21 debut omg hahahhaha.
The DNA hitmakers created the characters last year for the Line Friends store, with each member getting to give their character a special personality.
V created Tata, the super curious member with a heart-shaped face from BT Planet; Jimin thought up Chimmy, a passionate puppy who tried hard at everything and wears a yellow hoodie; while RM was behind Koya, a sleepy thinker koala whose ears fall off when hes shocked.
Mang was the brainchild of J-Hope, with the dance-loving characterss species unknown due to his horse mask. Suga created Shooky, a naughty chocolate cookie with a fear of milk (naturally); while Jungkooks character Cooky is a a tough pink bunny with imaginary muscle.
The final member of BT21, RJ, is a kind white alpaca that wears a parka when it gets cold, created by Jin.
RM also created the space robot Van, who is the protector of BT21 and represents the ARMY, or the BTS fandom.
Sure, theyre an unorthodox band – but we cannot wait for their debut.
